Welcome to 'The Hive'

 
The design of ‘The Hive’, was created from a wish list that staff discussed and agreed upon in November 2008.  The goal is  to provide various outdoor learning spaces, productive areas, and an outdoor classroom.   Landscape architect, Jill Rice who took our ideas and produced the plan also designed the Potters children garden at the Auckland Botanical Gardens.
 

We hope to create this outdoor learning environment in the grassed strip that runs along the western boundary and behind the junior two storey block of classrooms.
This plan is only a sketch of ideas at this point.  'The Hive’ will be done in stages over a period of time. The first stage, the native corner behind Room 10, we hope to complete by the end of this year, and have already started preparation of the site by removing the old weed mat.
