Enrolment Process

General Information

The school has an approved enrolment policy based on a defined geographic zone, information on in zone and out of zone enrolments is detailed below.  Enrolment packs or out of zone application forms are available from the School Office between 8.30am and 3.30pm daily during term time.  If you have any queries about enrolment please contact us on admin@pointview.school.nz or phone 274 0637.

To help with our long term planning we would appreciate you pre-enrolling your child well in advance of their 5th birthday.  If any of your contact details change at any stage please ensure you notify the office so we can keep your information up to date.

IN ZONE ENROLMENTS

At Point View School we have an approved enrolment policy based on a defined geographic zone (see the zone map of the area and list of street names and house numbers on the Zoning Information tab).  All in-zone enrolments require proof that the address provided is where the applicant lives as outlined on the enrolment form and presentation of a birth certificate.  All documentation requirements need to be completed before any child is able to start.

Please note that children cannot start on the same day that they first arrive to enrol.  A day is needed to organise placement of the child into an appropriate class and so the teacher can prepare for their arrival.

OUT OF ZONE ENROLMENTS

The October 2016 Ballot has been completed.  All applicants who were in the ballot held on 19 October 2016 for children turning five before December 2017 and at other levels, will be advised of the results of the ballot draw in writing before the end of October.

Ballot applicants who are not offered a place from the draw have the opportunity to go on the waiting list for their year level.  Please note that offer of placement to applicants on the waiting list is not guaranteed as an offer can only be made if a space becomes available during the year.

All out-of-zone students need to apply to be in the ballot INCLUDING SIBLINGS of out of zone students currently attending Point View School.

The next ballot will be held in October 2017 for all children turning five before December 2018.  Application forms will be available from the School Office from the beginning of the 2017 school year.
