Term 4 – Maui and the Secret of Fire

This term students will be learning about the myth of Maui and the Secret of Fire.

 

We will be:

  • listening to the story
  • reading and retelling the story
  • sequencing the story (putting the story into order)
  • learning new words such as:

gazed

mischief

excuses

flame

precious

furious

We will also focus on homophones  – these are words that sound the same but are spelt differently and mean different things. For example, flower/flour; bear/bear; blue/blew
