Matter is anything that takes up space and has weight.

Everything in the whole world is matter.

Matter is made up of tiny particles called atoms.

Matter can be grouped into 3 main groups – solids, liquids, gases

Solids – don’t change shape on their own

Liquids – can flow, can be poured

Gases – most are invisible, can spread out and float to fill a space
