During Term 1 we have been...

Have a look at some of the awesome work we have done so far!

Room 18 - Year 5

Have a look at the portraits that Room 18 have done about their talents. We used a photo of ourselves to sketch a self portrait and coloured these using black & white paint, blending it to make different shades of grey. Finally we cut out our portraits and stuck them onto black card. On the card we painted words showing our gifts and talents.

Room 19 - Year 6

Room 19 have been creating self portraits of ourselves using pastel and dye. We studied the work of an artist named Rosina Wachtmeister and modeled our portraits on her style.

We have also completed an inquiry on a talented person. Have a look at some of the awesome brochures that we have created.

Room 23 - Year 6

In Room 23 we have done pastel self-portraits. The first part of doing this was Miss Firth sketching the side of our head onto a piece of black paper. Then we coloured them in with pastel. Next we cut them out and stuck them onto a piece of dyed paper. Finally, we cut out pictures from magazines of stuff we liked or brought in pictures from home. We also wrote words that described us. The whole class had a lot of fun making these and we hope you all like them, because don’t they look amazing!!!

Room 24 - Year 5

In Room 24 we have been working on self portraits. We started by looking carefully at our features and sketching our faces from photographs of ourselves. After that we created the portraits shown using pastels. As part of our topic this term, we decided what our best talents are and displayed them around our finished work.

We hope you enjoy them

Room 25 - Year 5

Room 25 has been learning in the first few weeks of Term 1, what makes a real good team of learners! Together they have come up with a set of values that they think are most important in a team that wants to learn. In 'Team 25' together everyone achieves more and in doing so they are 'climbing to
success!'

Room 26 - Year 5

Room 27 - Year 5

We have been having lots of fun while learning about statistics. We looked at the process of how to carry out a statistical investigation. To begin with we made an assertion about which colour school bag was the most popular for our class. We then collected the data on a tally chart. The next step was to create a variety of graphs in different media.
We made graphs with our school bags, graphs with ourselves, handwritten graphs on paper and card, graphs on the computer and the most fun of all was making graphs with chalk on the courts. Finally we interpreted our graphs by making some statements about the data. We learnt a lot about statistics and had fun along the way. We displayed some of our work for you to enjoy.
