On Monday 28th of June two teams of 3, with a reserve each, travelled to Baverstock Oaks primary school to take part in the annual writers quiz. They had trained for ages devouring book, after book, after book, some short, some long, some big, some small. When they arrived they were seated at different tables with a competing school on the other end. In front of them were seven pieces of paper stapled together, and written on it was the numbers 1 to 6 with lines next to them for the six answers and below that was two pairs of double lines that was labled "Quotes". Once all 15 schools were seated, the hostess for the Writer's Quiz, introduced all the parent helpers and teachers to Baverstock Oaks but unfortunately she had a cold so the principal, Mrs Wilson, would be calling out the questions. There would be 7 rounds of questions and if in need a tiebreaker. At the end of each round 2 schools names would be pulled out of a box and those schools got to take a book back for their library. Rounds past as the minutes ticked by and at the end of the 7th round we saw there was no need for a tiebreaker. Point View Team A (us) came #1 by 2 points with 51 and team B came #3. Another year with that trophy I guess for the 3rd year in a row! We are going to be in the Howick Times Newspaper and we were interviewed by a reporter. We also got book vouchers.

In support of the All Whites the students at Point View School dressed up in white clothes or their soccer uniform. Have a look at the photos of some of the best outfits and our video supporting the All Whites.

Thirtyfive groups auditioned. They used their talents, trying as hard as they could to succeed, their dream to be #1. It all came down to 3 groups. Sweat and tears fell from the faces of the relentless competitors. In the finals, 2 were let down, 1 was picked out. The past successful winner was Laila Abada, who sang very beautifully. But the lucky and most talented winner this year was the young............. Brooke Davies! She performed the most magnificent aerobics dance, which was stunning! Well done to Brooke Davies and the other contestants who participated in Point View's Got Talent!

Today, Friday the 4 of June 2010, our school celebrated World Environment Day.  We dressed in sky blue, brown, or green.  Which was convenient because our uniforms are green. In the morning we had a Enviro themed assembly.  Abigail Low won the WEP (World Environmental Person) award and a prize went to those 3 adults who made 521 cookies.  At lunchtime there were some stalls set up: a stall selling those delicious cookies, water bottles and chocolate, a face-painting stall and a plant-growing stall.

On 13th of April, a group of senior students made up a filming crew for the 2010 production... THE VOYAGE OF THE DAWN TREADER!!!! While everyone else was either at the Maritime Museum or at school, we filmed on board the amazing sailing boat 'The Breeze' and had a lot of fun. Take a look at the photos of the day. Hope you like them!!!!!
