Good evening Point View Parents and Caregivers
We are very thankful that the current community outbreak of Covid-19 seems to have been contained. It is very good news that Auckland is to return to Alert Level 1 tonight.
This means we are able to hold Meet The Teacher Evenings as planned:
Wednesday 24 Feb 7pm
All Year 1 & Year 2 plus the following rooms: 12, 13, 14, 15, 16
Thursday 25 Feb 7pm
All Year 5 and Year 6 plus the following rooms: 11, 29, 30, 31
Thank you for your support over the past few days. It is this kind of partnership between the school and families that provides for the stability and level of guidance that our children need.
We can now return to normal with regards to the collection at the end of the day.
The guidelines we have had in place since June last year for the end of the school day have worked well. We have seen children taking more responsibility for themselves and teachers able to focus their classes on learning through to the end of the school day.
Collection at the End of the School Day.
For those who have collected their child successfully outside the school grounds at a predetermined spot, please continue to do this.
For those who wish to meet their children on-site, there will be 3 pick-up zones on the school grounds as follows:
Junior Syndicate and their siblings: under the large canopy at the front of the school, in the junior courtyard area in front of the garden and on the steps between the car park and the playground. Please do not use the car park. This will now be closed to pedestrians as it was before lockdown.
Middle Syndicate and their siblings: the courts outside the Hall and the courtyard by the table tennis tables
Senior Syndicate: the staff carpark off Keppoch Court
Please arrange with your children to use one of these on a regular basis.
Please do not congregate at the classroom doors and windows at either end of the day.
The steps outside the office will remain a go to point for any students or parents who cannot find each other.
We want to keep open lines of communication between families and teachers so if you feel the need, please email to set up a suitable meeting time. This can be in person, or on-line.
If you have any queries or concerns or need to drop something off, the school office is open again. As before the restrictions, we ask you to sign in as part of our normal health and safety procedures. We are supporting contact tracing by having QR code posters at our entrances and on classroom doors.
Please note that students should arrive in the morning at or soon after, 8:20am when they are able to go to their classroom. Those who arrive earlier and who are not booked into before school care with Kilkenny Kids, must wait on the steps outside the Hall. I am concerned about the increasing numbers of children arriving early as we do not have staff available to supervise at this time.
Thank you again for your support as we look forward to welcoming our families back on site for school activities and community events.
Ngā mihi nui
