Room 11 have been making beautiful art this year.

Lunar New Year:
We started the year celebrating the Lunar New Year and the year of the tiger.

We zoomed in and looked closely at the tiger, its patterns and one feature.

Sandra Siberzweig portraits:
We have created abstract portraits in the style of artist Sandra Silberzweig.

Wassily Kandinsky:
Next we mixed paint to make secondary colours from primary colours and made these into trees like Russian painter Wassily Kandinsky.

Rainy Day Poetry:
It has rained a lot. So we wrote poems using our senses and made 3D umbrellas to help keep us dry!

Matariki, the Māori new year, was our next focus.

Here we blended pastels, weaved, worked with harakeke to create tails for our kites. We wrote Star poetry which helped to finish off our display.

We’re looking forward to sharing our aquarium art with you soon!
