The Stardome in Auckland’s Cornwall Park certainly was filled with fascinating displays and delights. The juniors were treated to a wonderful talk –
– about the sun and its massive size, power and star qualities
– how the earth rotates around the sun over the period of a year
– how the moon rotates around the earth over a period of around 27 days which is almost a month
– that the word ‘month’ takes its name from ‘moon’
– how day and night occur
