Home Learning
At Point View School, we recognise the important role that home learning plays in reinforcing classroom learning and supporting learner progress. Regular practice at home helps learners strengthen their understanding, build confidence, and develop positive learning habits.
Practising Key Skills
Home learning provides opportunities for learners to revisit key skills taught at school and apply them independently. Spending around 20–30 minutes on home learning, 4–5 times per week helps learners consolidate their knowledge and strengthen their learning over time.
We understand that families have busy lives, so our home learning is designed to be simple, manageable and purposeful, supporting what learners are learning in the classroom without placing unnecessary pressure on families.
Home learning may include:
Reading – learners are encouraged to read regularly at home (books should be kept in a book bag)
Spelling practice
Handwriting practice
Mathematics knowledge and number facts
Working together with families helps support our learners to develop confidence, independence, and a lifelong love of learning.
